Cupping
Cupping is a technique in which silicone, plastic or glass cups are placed on the skin to give the body a deep massage. The advantage of cupping is that it increases blood circulation, which causes the skin to repair and strengthen itself.

What is cupping good for?
Cupping is good for blood circulation, because your blood flows better and this helps to remove waste and fluid better. Improved circulation can help with cellulite. At MinkBC we believe in natural beauty. Cellulite is very normal and most women have cellulite on their hips, legs and buttocks. Cellulite is actually a fatty deposit under the skin that can cause it to form bumps, dimples and dents. Cupping can help reduce these physical properties.
In addition, facial cupping has the following benefits:
- Improving blood circulation
- Firming of the skin
- Stimulation of the lymph
- Better removal of moisture and waste
- Reduction of wrinkles, scar tissue, pores
- Provides relaxation, reduces stress and tension
The most frequently asked questions about cupping
Cupping has not been popular in the Netherlands for very long. Cupping is often used in physiotherapy or to treat cellulite. But, can you also perform cupping yourself? Read answers to the most frequently asked questions about cupping below:
Can I do cupping myself?
Self cupping is actually very easy to use. Place the cups on the skin and gently squeeze them to create a vacuum. The cups create a vacuum on the skin and then you let them slide over your skin, preferably in circular movements. This ensures that blood circulation is activated. You can use the cups in the bath, shower or just in front of the mirror.
Does cupping hurt?
No, cupping is a relaxing activity. It is, as it were, a massage for the body or face. This therefore also helps to reduce stress and make your skin youthful again. Should the skin hurt during cupping? Then your muscles may be tight. Gently move the cups over the painful areas and repeat this weekly until the cupping feels nice.
Is cupping for face or body?
Cupping can be used for both the face and body. The thickness of the skin naturally differs, which is why cups for the face are smaller than cups for the body.
Will I get bruises from cupping?
When you let the cups slide over your skin, no bruising will occur. If you leave the cup on the skin a little longer, you will get a “Cup Kiss”, a cupping spot. This is officially not a bruise, but a hickey through the cup.
How do I get the best results from cupping?
For best results, use the cups three times a week with at least one day in between uses. Don't expect to see a big difference after just one use, but if you do this regularly, it will certainly improve the skin.
What is the best way to clean the cups?
The cups are easy to clean with lukewarm water and disinfectant hand soap.
