The coconut shell from Kokosbakkie is brought from Bali where it is cleaned by hand, sanded and polished with a coconut oil. Then each container is painted by hand or inlaid with shells. Later, the containers are provided with a food-safe and approved epoxy layer. Each coconut tray is unique and recorded in shape, size and color of all other coconut trays. Designed by nature and lovingly handmade into beautiful cups.

After the coconuts have been picked in Asia and the coconut meat and coconut water have been removed from the coconut, the coconut shell is also considered 'superfluous'.
